Une délégation du CRIF conduite par Mr. Roger Cukierman a été reçue par le Président de l'Etat d'Israël
A solidarity mission of French Jewry - the "CRIF," headed by the President of the organization Roger Cukierman, was received this morning (05/09/2006) by the President.
The Chairman of the delegation expressed French Jewry´s solidarity with the people of Israel.
Mr. Cukierman noted that the State Visit of the President of Israel in France as the guest of President Jacques Chirac in February 2004, was a source of great pride for French Jewry and still creates many echoes.
The President of Israel described at length the developments in our region and noted that, at the time, during his meeting with the President of France in the Elysee Palace, he warned the President of the Hizbullah´s control of South Lebanon and called on the European leaders to declare the Hizbullah to be a terrorist organization.
The President added that if the international community had acted during the last 6 years to bring about the full implementation of Security Council Resolution 1559, the latest war could have been prevented.
