Centenary of the First World War Armistice - Inauguration of the "Flowers for peace" project in the Somme

The "Flowers for Peace" project will put an end to the centenary of the First World War in the Somme.
The Somme Departmental Council invites people to remember and honour the men who fell on the Somme battlefields during the four years of the conflict as well as men from the Somme who died on other war fronts.
The "Flowers for Peace" project is organized from Thursday 8th to Sunday 11th November 2018.
Everyone is invited to visit one of the 318 military cemeteries of the Somme and to put a flower on a soldier's grave or a war memorial.
Emmanuel Macron, president of the French Republic, will lay a wreath at the Thiepval franco-british cemetary on November 9th 2018.
