China Post has issued a detailed analysis on how postal operators can deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. Titled, Handbook for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, the guide provides basic knowledge about the disease, examines what is known about prevention and offers advice on prevention and control.

The book reflects China Post's experience fighting the pandemic and details how 400,000 postal workers have continued to ensure the smooth operations of the postal services, while protecting staff and ensuring their safety by raising awareness about health risks.
China Post states in the foreword that the guide is based on the actual situation China Post found itself as COVID-19 began to spread. The handbook's aim, China Post states, is to assist the entire postal service in their own "fight against the COVID-19." In its own efforts, China Post states it mobilized all of its resources and that, at all times, "[w]e ... placed the life and health of the people in the most paramount position in our work."
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, postal operators have raised awareness about the health guidance published by the World Health Organization and their countries. This includes altering procedures to protect both customers and workers, and preparing detailed sanitation plans for their offices, plants and transport.
Aside from the workplace, the guide outlines protocols to be followed on leaving work place as well as at home. Measures discussed involve washing hands, wearing a mask, disinfecting mobile phones and keys and avoiding any unnecessary journeys on the way to work or home.
In a recent letter sent to the Director General of the Universal Postal Union, Bishar A. Hussein, the Director General of China Post MA Junsheng said of the handbook, "The epidemic knows no borders. In the face of the crisis, we are a community of common destiny. The State Post Bureau of China is willing to share the practices of our postal industry through the UPU to the posts of member countries that are fighting the epidemic for their reference and to help them overcome the epidemic ..."
