BARCELONA, RIGHTS EQUALITY: Sixteen neighbourhoods ; A thousand cities
The old Borsi building is home to a photography exhibition on the sixteen neighbourhoods in the city with the most inequalities. Different visions take us closer to the reality of the areas where the Neighbourhood Plan is implementing different action plans, with local residents and associations actively involved.
The historical Borsi building, in the Gòtic neighbourhood, is opening for a few weeks to present the photographic exhibition 'Sixteen neighbourhoods, a thousand cities: photographs for other narratives of Barcelona', promoted by the Neighbourhood Plan in collaboration with the Arxiu Fotogràfic de Barcelona.
The display offers the visions of different photographers from the sixteen Barcelona neighbourhoods where the Neighbourhood Plan is implementing different measures in the spheres of education, social rights, public space and facilities, and economic activity. The exhibition is about breaking down the peripheral image of the least known and most vulnerable city neighbourhoods.
The pictures by the sixteen photographers offer visitors different reflections based on the images depicted and the work done with different collectives in the neighbourhoods.
The exhibition is on from 16 February to 31 March, with the following opening times:
- Thursdays and Fridays, from 4 pm to 8 pm
- Saturdays and Sundays, from 10 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 8 pm
Debates on the right to the city
A series of topical debates based around the main themes of the Neighbourhood Plan are being organised to complement the exhibition 'Sixteen neighbourhoods, a thousand cities'.

- "The right to coexistence: interculturality and intergenerationality", 28 March at 6 pm
The Borsi, part of the neighbourhood
The Borsi building has been regained for the neighbourhood as part of the Neighbourhood Plan for El Raval and El Gòtic, with local residents playing a key role in deciding on new uses for the building. The Borsi will be transformed into two facilities: the Biblioteca Gòtic - Andreu Nin and a facility with multi-purpose areas for use by local residents. Work on the building starts in 2020.
