City of Paris - 10/2/2014 9:10:00 AM

In late 2015, the United Nations International Conference on Climate Change - otherwise known as COP21 - will take place in Paris - Le Bourget. In July of this year Paris City Council adopted a set of resolutions aiming to bring together all stakeholders ahead of a conference which promises to be a pivotal moment in the future of our planet.

Towards the end of each year, the Conference of the Parties (COP) brings together all signatory 'Parties' of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), first adopted in Rio in 1992. These Parties include 195 countries along with the European Union, which is represented in addition to its 28 member states.

France will host this 21st International Conference on Climate Change, which will take place in Paris-Le Bourget between 30th November and 15th December 2015. This conference will mark a major turning point in global climate change strategy, yielding a new international climate agreement to come into force in 2020, detailing plans to limit global warming to below 2°C between now and 2100.
